Join the Executive Service Corps (ESC) of the Greater Triangle
ESC consultants provide professional, affordable consulting services to nonprofits, to help them achieve their missions. Working in teams, we assess client needs, develop overall objectives and set strategy, analyze information and help clients achieve the results they want. Many of our consultants are retired executives from business and nonprofit organizations.
As a Volunteer Consultant, you can:
- Leverage a lifetime of professional skills and experience to affect change in nonprofit organizations that serve the community
- Use your problem solving skills to help local nonprofits operate more effectively

Our Clients:
Nonprofits in Wake, Durham, Orange and Chatham counties in fields such as social and human services, arts and culture, religion, civic services, and health care.
Our Work:
We provide Board development and strategic planning services, facilitate Board retreats, coach Executive Directors, conduct financial and organizational assessments, create fundraising and communications plans and more.
Skills and Time Commitment Required:
- Senior management experience and an understanding of the consulting process
- Genuine interest in helping nonprofits succeed
- Results orientation, creativity, objectivity, flexibility and adaptability
- Strong communication skills
- Depth in a skill area such as finance, marketing, HR, technology, operations, etc.
- Able and willing to commit the time needed (average of 3-5 hours per week) and work with limited resources
