We set high quality standards for our volunteers in order to provide first rate services to our nonprofit clients. Our consultants come from a wide range of backgrounds and prior work experiences. There are, however, a common set of skills that are needed to be successful as a nonprofit consultant.
General Skills and Time Commitment:
- Senior management experience in the business or nonprofit sectors
- An understanding of the consulting process
- Genuine interest in helping nonprofits succeed
- Results oriented, creative, objective, flexible and adaptable
- Strong communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and presenting
- Depth of knowledge in skill areas such as finance, marketing, human resources, operations, etc.
- Able and willing to commit the time needed (average of 3-5 hours per week) and work with limited resources
