- Trudy Smith - Executive Director: She has recently been awarded an Advanced Certificate
of Nonprofit Leadership in a specialized program
at Duke University. She has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Atlanta Ballet Associates, and she was the Chair of the Triangle Day School Board of Trustees from 2004-2006. Trudy has a BA in history from Duke University, a Master’s in Management from Georgia Tech and a Master’s of Science in Personnel and Employee Relations from Georgia State University.
- Shirley Ellis - Administrative Assistant: Retired from Nortel Networks, she was born and raised in Canada and lived in Germany, Florida and Texas before settling in North Carolina in 1993. Shirley has volunteered as a Red Cross dialysis patient transporter, a Guardian ad litem, and a reading buddy with RSVP. She also served on the Durham Human Relations Commission.
- Terri Buchanan - Administrative Assistant: is new to ESC. Originally from Michigan, Terri was a project manager at General Motors/Electronic Data Systems. Terri became involved in the start up of new PTA and Band Booster organizations for her children’s schools after moving to North Carolina in 1998. She is currently the treasurer of the Matt Cossa Memorial, an organization which raises research funds for Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center.
