Crisis Planning – Responding to an Unexpected Event

This new Virtual Training: Crisis Planning Responding to an Unexpected Event is an open ESC workshop for any staff or board members interested in learning practical steps and techniques for working through an event that is disrupting your agency.  We will outline a step by step approach to defining the crisis, identifying solutions, and taking action.  Participants will learn crisis planning skills that can be applied to any scenario of any duration and receive worksheets that can be utilized to follow the steps on their own.

This workshop is appropriate for individuals in organizations of all sizes and ranges, and is suitable for staff as well as management. It is intended for individuals who would have a leadership or influential role in defining how to deal with a crisis, its potential impact, and developing a response.

The emphasis will be on providing attendees with useful and practical knowledge and worksheets that can be used immediately. Whether you are new to your agency or have substantial experience in the nonprofit environment, this workshop will provide a hands-on approach to guiding your agency through an unexpected event and possibly finding hidden opportunity. It will be presented in an interactive format with discussion and case study examples.  After the presentation, the presenter will remain to respond to questions and further discussion for attendees.

Michael Rota has a strong track record for demonstrating leadership, strategic thinking, and hands on management using his experience from twenty four years in business strategy, product development, and project delivery across financial services, workplace solutions, and technology companies working for Fidelity Investments and Accenture. He has extensive training and application of skills in accelerated leadership, communication, design thinking, software development, business continuity planning, risk assessment, disaster recovery, project management, and innovation thinking.  Michael graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  He is a certified Project Management Professional and a Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
