Dear Fellow Executive Director, I would like to introduce myself as ESC’s new Executive Director. ESC is planning a series of online chat sessions around several timely topics. The sessions, ESC’s Virtual Fireside Chats, will run every 2 weeks in October, starting October 1, 2020. The sessions will be limited to executive directors from Triangle area nonprofits and are free of charge. Each session will feature a panel with a local expert and ESC consultant, and be moderated by me. Format of the sessions will include brief remarks from the panelists and plenty of Q&A time for the audience. This year has brought many new challenges to nonprofits, and ESC has chosen the following topics for this series. Other topics may be added later, depending on client feedback and the success of these first sessions. Please click on the session listed below to be directed to registration page for each event.
All sessions will be held online via Zoom, from 9-10 AM. Output from the sessions will be shared with attendees and more importantly be used to adjust our workshop content going forward, such as our upcoming ED Masterclass series. At ESC of the Triangle, our 70 passionate and experienced volunteer advisors are anxious to help you adapt to whatever the new normal becomes. Our emphasis remains on learning and refining best practices, and pragmatically applying those lessons through consulting and training services. Earlier this year, ESC consultants completed a structured research study of 25 regional nonprofit board chairs, and found creativity in adaptation, but also a high degree of anxiety and uncertainty among nonprofit staff and volunteers. The report from this research, entitled “Leading Nonprofit Boards through these Uncertain Times,” can be accessed for background.
